After I went on my evening walk around the neighborhood, noticing the birds swooping and even the poor dried worms on the sidewalk…a part of creation. Listening to a podcast with Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, reflecting on Kabbala…on the “isness” of things and the privilege of being a piece, a slice, a drop, of the isness.
Then, back to my Lectio, sitting in my chair. This evening, from Psalm 8, NRSV version:
“When I look at your heavens, the
work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you
have established;
what are human beings that you
are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?”
And I smile, because I realize that God is mindful too.
